The Hickory is a new cafe housed in the historic Hill of Tarvit mansion. In 1904, renowned architect Robert Lorimer was commissioned to transform the 17th century house into a modern 20th century mansion to display his fine art collection.
The cafe is run by local brothers Grant Hughes and Paul Hughes who also operate the Press cafe and bistro in Cupar town centre. Their aim is to combine modern cooking with traditional Edwardian surroundings to creating a unique dining experience. The cafe is open on Saturday and Sunday between April and October offering brunch, home baking with tea and coffee, lunches and afternoon tea. The cafe and house are also available 7 days a week for private events and weddings.
During the warmer days take advantage of the Edwardian terrace showcasing the amazing manicured gardens of the mansion house.
The mansion house is the perfect venue for weddings and private events. The lower lawn offers a great space for a marquee with the mansion providing a stunning backdrop. The cafe and adjoining conservatory are perfectly suited to smaller private functions and events.
We can accommodate events from 6 to 300 and can be tailored to your specific requirements. Please contact us for more information. The house boasts an original Edwardian kitchen that can be used for parties and cooking classes.
